– helping others move from a deficit mindset to self-grace –

Things are happening in this world that are incredibly difficult for me to understand. The last presidential assassination attempt in my lifetime occurred when I was a little boy. I remember hearing it on the radio. I remember where we were, what we were doing, and trying to understand what “assassination” meant from my parents, both of whom were together which in and of itself is memorable.

Today’s word is “access.” We have so much access. You can view angles. You can view everything imaginable almost. Two glaring differences between now and then, though, are truths in mainstream media AND having social media. I typically don’t watch the news, and when I do, the only reason I check American media outlets is to view the different headlines to see how things are spun.

Truths. In my opinion, growing up, media told the news. Can we in America trust that now? I do not. It’s like Lando said, “This deal is getting worse all the time!” Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about. Reports are out there with video “evidence” of bullying of Crooks. Maybe your perception is different from mine, but what I saw was teasing, not bullying. The guy smiled. Nothing harmful happened. Check out headlines about that video, though. I will not cite them here because they’re utter garbage. To me, that’s a spin. Massive news company in America did not even seem to want to call it an assassination attempt.

Excuse me?

My dear friend and frequent commenter, Brad Lee, and I have said many times how we are grateful we did not grow up in the era of social media. I honestly don’t know what kind of stupid garbage I would have posted and have posted when I was active. People today often post everything! It’s not uncommon for people to do things to post. Personally, I don’t care what you eat, and I sure do not want to see pictures of it. It’s getting harder to tell what’s real. Videos can be faked easier than ever before. Audio, too. If you throw spin in it all, it gets muddier and muddier, truly worse all the time.

One thing that bothers me is the comments. We all have our opinions, yes. If you as a human being are remorseful because of the failed attempt, what does that say about you? Do you call yourself “decent” or “moral” or a “good citizen”? What about “Christian”? Believe me, I have not liked many presidents, but I do not want them to be assassinated.

If this is you and you find yourself feeling this way, please meditate on that, pray about it, and/or consult others. If you are spreading hate no matter how justified you think you are, please check yourself. I can’t control any of this, right, but I can control what I consume and what I spread. If you or your party promote love but spread hate, check yourself.

After all, we can only be divided as much as we let ourselves be. It’s easy to be a part of the problem. It is much more challenging to be a part of the solution.

But, you know what? We can.

Let’s collectively promote love and see what happens?

They say that if you don’t have a conspiracy theorist friend, to find one. Luckily, here I am.
